 Thunderbird High School Vision Statement: Our vision is a dynamic, community-involved school dedicated to the development of academic and life skills, self-worth and responsibility.
 
Community: Thunderbird High School is one of nine high schools in the Glendale Union High School District, which serves the northwestern area of the city of Phoenix and all of the city of Glendale. The area is primarily residential, with a number of high-tech industries.
 

Thunderbird High School: The school first opened in 1972 and graduated its first class in 1975.  Thunderbird began the 2008-2009 school year with an enrollment of 1684 and with a certified staff numbering  86.

 

Accreditation: The North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools accredits Thunderbird High School.

 

Organization: The school year is 180 days in length. Each class meets five days a week for 55 minutes. Each class carries .5 Carnegie units for each semester. Teacher assistants earn .25 credits for each semester.
