As some of you may have heard, yesterday, September 23, 2010, the Arizona Board of Regents voted 9 - 1 to revise the criteria and award amount of the Regents High Honors Tuition Scholarship (aka - AIMS Scholarship). The changes will go into effect with the graduating class of 2013 (current sophomores). 

The changes are as follows:

University Academic Year 2010-11 (Current high school seniors)
No change to current criteria or award amount

University Academic Year 2011-12 (Current high school juniors)
No change to current criteria or award amount

University Academic Year 2012-13 (Current high school sophomores)
Part 1 & 2:  No changes to criteria for competency courses, GPA, or class rank.

Part 3:  a. Students must exceed on AIMS Reading, Writing and Mathematics by sophomore year (1 opportunity to exceed)

 b. Add ACT or SAT scores:  ACT score of 28-36 or SAT1 score of 1300-1600.
 c. Reduce the scholarship amount to 25% of tuition. At the discretion of the university, a student may be awarded more merit aid.
