Culture Club - Alexander the Great’s only son was born in this country. Have you heard of a wild sport called buzkashi (aka goat-grabbing) where riders on horseback compete to drop a goat carcass in a marked goal? Well, it’s this mystery country’s national sport. Also, poetry holds a sacred importance. Some cities celebrate poetry one night EVERY week! It is home to the busiest single-runway airstrip in the world (called Kandahar). The world’s two tallest Buddha statues stood here until they were destroyed by the Taliban. It is a country full of heartache and hardship, but also beauty and pride. It’s Afghanistan! Teachers and students, please come to THS Culture Club this Thursday, 11/1, at 3:00, in room F214 to celebrate Afghanistan. You will learn more about this beautiful country, hear Afghan music, and taste some authentic Afghan food. All humans are welcome! (Parker) 10/30, 10/31, 11/01

Key Club - Hey Chiefs, don't forget the Food Drive is still going strong, and the holiday's will be here before you know it. Key Club is also collecting CASH, as well as non-perishable food items for St. Mary's Food Bank. Every $1 donated earns your homeroom credit for three (5 oz. cans) AND that same dollar provides up to 7 meals for those in need. To quote Matthew West: "If not us, then who? If not me and you. Right now, it’s time for us to DO SOMETHING!" Together, we can ease hunger in Arizona. Please consider making your cash donation today!
