25 Years Strong: Recognizing Thunderbird High School Staff
The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board recognized Thunderbird High School staff members for reaching an impressive 25 years of service. This achievement reflects their steadfast commitment, outstanding professionalism, and meaningful impact on students, peers, and the Thunderbird community as a whole. Beyond their years of service, these honorees serve as mentors, exemplars, and foundational leaders whose influence shapes the school’s culture and success.
Patrick Henry, Career & Technical Education Teacher
Since joining Thunderbird High School in 2000, Patrick Henry has been a cornerstone of both the English and CTE programs, dedicating over two decades to encouraging student growth, creativity, and leadership. Currently, he teaches Film & TV, Digital Photography, and Graphic Design while serving as the CTE Department Chair, guiding curriculum development and supporting fellow educators.
Prior to focusing fully on CTE, Patrick also coached Speech and Debate, advised the school newspaper, sponsored the Film Club, and served as Sophomore Class sponsor for two decades. Beyond the classroom, he contributed to school-wide initiatives, including years of service on the Honors and Awards Committee, which helped shape traditions and recognize student excellence.
Mr. Henry’s long-standing dedication reflects a passion for mentoring students and colleagues alike. His leadership, creativity, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting mark on Thunderbird, making him a true pillar of the school community.
Victor Vega, Math Teacher
Victor Vega has been a dedicated presence at Thunderbird High School since 2000, shaping the minds of students in College Math, Geometry, and Extended Math. As PLC Team Lead for College Math, he plays a key role in promoting collaboration and supporting fellow educators in enhancing curriculum and student outcomes.
Over the years, Victor has contributed to campus life beyond the classroom, sponsoring clubs such as the Hip Hop Club, Bowling Club, and Key Club, which earned Achievement Above All recognition in the 2019–2020 academic year. He also assists in athletic events through announcing and game clock duties, and serves on the school’s site council, consistently demonstrating his commitment to the Thunderbird community.
Victor’s impact reaches far beyond equations and classroom lessons. His enthusiasm for teaching, coupled with his willingness to support every aspect of campus life, reflects his deep commitment to student success and school spirit. Through his leadership and unwavering dedication, Victor continues to exemplify what it means to be a true Thunderbird Titan.
