College Recruiting Simplified

The Glendale Union High School District is proud to announce that we have partnered with the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) to present two “College Recruiting Simplified” seminars.  They will be held on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:30 pm in the Glendale High School Auditorium and then again on Monday, November 23rd at 6:30 in the Sunnyslope High School Auditorium.

Glendale and Sunnyslope High Schools are each one of more than 2,000 “College Recruiting Simplified” locations for the 2009-2010 school year.  NCSA Educational Speakers guide parents and student-athletes through the importance of establishing athletic and academic goals, setting realistic expectations, and seeking opportunities at all college levels.  Attendees learn valuable tips on finding the best college based on their student-athletes’ academic and athletic abilities.  Most importantly, “College Recruiting Simplified” is FREE and reiterates that the most valuable goal anyone should strive for is a college education.

Topics covered include:

  • The benefits of playing collegiate sports
  • Understanding whether your student-athlete is really being recruited
  • Strategies on how to maximize an athlete’s recruiting potential
  • Is Division I the only option?
  • Timelines for college recruiting
  • The importance of character and keeping good grades
  • The 5 things every student-athlete must do to get recruited
